About the Author
Caroline Norton was a socialite of British high-society, a political activist, a feminist, and a celebrated author in the nineteenth century. She wrote numerous novels and poetry collections, as well as two plays. She died in 1877.

An appeal for the rights of women

"English Laws for Women in the 19th Century" is a fervent plea for protection and an appeal to change the 19th century laws that they may offer women security in both domestic and business matters. One can't help but sympathize with Norton as she details the struggles between herself and her husband. I'd recommend this book to any of my feminist friends!
