I was excited to get this book. I took it to work and my co-workers already had it and use it often, they love it too! Great resource when working with children that have witnessed abuse or violence.

I strongly disagree with the grade 1-7 designation. This is a 30 page booklet with very simple language, few words on each page, in a large font.
**** It is appropriate for grades K-2. ****
The book asked children to recall details of their trauma. For this reason, I would strongly recommend that it be used by a therapist or by a parent who has consulted with a therapist.
The book prompts children to explore their feelings and do a lot of drawings (about positive and negative situations). No coping strategies are offered--aside from the use of drawing for therapeutic purposes and having children express feelings.
